Accessibility Statement

What is web accessibility?

World Wide Web Consortiums definition for “WCAG web accessibility” is the practice of making content accessible to a wider range of people with disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity and combinations of these. Following these guidelines will also often make your Web content more usable to users in general. (Henry S L, 2005)

Why web accessibility?

The web is used as an information medium it is a channel for communication and interaction in society. It is important for web to be an accessible medium for all people and provide equal access and opportunities to people with disabilities. It’s an organisations social responsibility to comply with accessibility guidelines so all users can participate best in society. (Henry S L & Arch A, 2009)

Implementation of web accessibility

The Classic Celica Club of SA is committed to ensuring accessibility of its Web site for people with disabilities. New and updated Web content produced by our organization will conform to W3C/WAI's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, Conformance Level A, by Oct 2009.

Existing Web content produced by our organization, and new, updated, and existing Web content provided for our site by third-party developers, will conform to Conformance Level AA by Nov 2009. By Dec 2009 Classic Celica Club of SA plans on conforming completely to Conformance level AAA.

Classic Celica Club of SA has scheduled a plan to conform the pre existing VIP member’s area, The target conformance for the members only website is W3C/WAI's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, Conformance Level A, by March 2010.

All pages will include links to this policy they will be located in the footer.

We will review this policy in the future to consider updating it to an advanced version of W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines once available.

Internet Explorer 4.5 (Mac) - Access keys not supported
