EV conversions...thoughts?

Postby redGT4 » Sat Jan 21, 2017 8:45 pm

So a recent episode of Wheeler Dealers featured Edd converting a Maserati to volts, which i found very interesting. So i looked up the price's here in Oz and the price seems to be on par (maybe a little more) than petrol engines(not talking batteries just engines). Instant torque in a TA22 would be a sight to behold.

So, i'm all for a classic cars getting converted and would love to see a celica converted. Thoughts?

It is the way of the future, for sure
however it was the way of the future back in 1885 when EV''s first appeared.
there's a new bumper slogan ... "the futures past" ... wasn't that a movie somewhere?
I would love to convert to EV. The initial cost of a conversion is far to prohibitive to make
it worthwhile.

*at the moment ;)

bit like solar panels, years ago they were prohibitively expensive, now they are dirt cheap

good point, hadn't thought of that.
Bring on EV :-D no more petrol, oil changes, coolant flushes, filters, no more blocked up pressure valve in an oil pump :-P etc etc etc .....
