Damo,

My understanding is that "being on the list" is to do with our club becoming a member of MCSA. Once we are a member club I don't think this list has much to do with entering supersprints, except (as per JT) which class you run in.

The SRs for supersprint - http://www.mscasa.com/suppregs/supp_reg.aspx show the classes, and the list of cars eligible Marque Sports Cars & Modified Marque Sports Cars, but there are classes also for Street Cars, Modified Street Cars & Racing Class.

So as long as we have a member with a car thats on the list we are good to go?

MWP - no - I don't think we even need that.

Murray said:

Generally a club can join MSCA if their representative vehicle is included in the CAMS Eligible Vehicles list. There is one Celica, ZZT (2000 on), in the list. Regardless, the MSCA can admit a club whose goals are in line with MSCA

One of our representative vehicles is in the Cams list - we represent all Celicas (because they are all classics now - no longer made) and there is a Celica on the list.

He also says that regardless of that, they can admit a club whose goals are in line with MSCA. I'm sure we qualify there as well.

I think once the club is affiliated it shouldnt matter right? I'm sure theres space in the club fund to cover the $50? It's good that its more based on member payment rather than club payment, $20 is nothin. Shame about how expensive the timers are though

list here

http://www.msca.net.au/cars.php

Competitors do not require a Marque Sports Car to compete - any car can compete in our events. The list below applies only to Vehicles intending to enter our MSCA Victoria Marque Sports Car Championship

I assume the SA assoc would use same regs

That's a slightly different list than page 6 of the supp regs, but close enough, poo it has supra RZ but I have an SZ-R :(

So what's the consensus? enough interest to join?

We are definitely in.

We would need someone on the committee to write to MCSA requesting membership, and include a copy of our constitution. Does this need to be discussed at a monthly meeting, or can a decision be made by the committee?

I guess technically it needs to be discussed and voted on, but I would suggest it's a go

Geoff, are you able to draft the letter please, and we'll send it in with the constitution and $50

Our application for MSCA membership is in progress, and I'm told we will be good to go for the first supersprint on March 23rd.

If you are interested in this you will need to fill out an MCSA membership form - http://www.mscasa.com/pdf/membership_form.pdf - and get it signed by someone at CCCSA to confirm that you are a current CCCSA member. Then you need to pay your $20 personal MSCA membership fee along with the form to MSCA. I will bring some copies of the membership form to next week's meeting.

We'll be at the first supersprint - hope to see some other CCCSA members there.
