Re: Photo opportunity

You cant get in there with the stands up, too busy with construction personnel, etc.

At other times, its very easy though.
Still, not something we would want to do as a club without permission.

Re: Photo opportunity

I think we can go through all the paper work and crap...only one person would have to do it...I'd could it at some stage when i have lots of time off...(which i do from time to time)

We would not be able to go there during the time while the clipsal 500 stuff is there.

I think it would be worth doing at some stage when there is nothing there, it would look just as good on the grid without the grand stands etc.

Maybe some shots from ontop of a ladder to get a high angle with all the cars and an idea of what the track looks like.

The benefit of going through all the paper work is that no one could ever challenge the validity of the pictures and the club would benefit from being seen to do the right thing.

:D

If we are going to do it we should come up with a couple of ideas about how to photograph the cars....having them on the grid is one cool thing, but we could do more......

i think a formation of the cars along the grid on this angle / / / / / / down the straight would also look cool.

Its a big space, we might be able to come up with some creative ideas? and it'd be better to come up with them before we're actually there :D

Re: Photo opportunity

all good comments orange and i agree with them all, someone just has to take the time to fill out the forms required, and probably talk to council and see what they need as we do it. i think there was a risk assessment form too, and it may be tricky (or costly?) for the club getting insurarance for 20M liability.

Rain would suck, but overcast days or excellent for photography....If its a hastle to organise i might be able to convince my mate to take the photo's, he works at a camera shop so that would work out well.

A risk assessment form sounds easy enough to fill out, just some OHandS thing?

The stumbling block would be insurance!!!!????if it cost money...maybe it can be done for free?

They have the "peddle prix" there for schools all the time, surely if it cost lots of money they wouldn't do it there?

Re: Photo opportunity

CAMS might be able to cover the insurance bit as it would be a club event.
Would need to get CAMS to add the relevant info though as stated in the Adel council media document.

Re: Photo opportunity

I spoke to melanie at the Council, she's "just" a customer relations officer, but was very friendly and helpful.

the site to browse thru is http://www.adelaidecitycouncil.com/serv ... ction.html

scroll down for the risk management plan, yeah just OHS shit if you're good at it with your work, it's been many years since i've done one, but just lookijng over it, it looks (relatively) easyish

if orange does the forms, MWP organises the insurance, i'll bring a couple of grid girls :D

oh and would this make it a cams sanctioned event?? would we get a cams permit number?

just thinking cause then i could take the track car. street car won't be back on the road for 6 months...

Re: Photo opportunity

Awesome if CAMS can cover it.

I did OHS&W at uni and some training for it at work, so i *should* be able to fill out that risk assessment.

Re: Photo opportunity

Interesting idea. Im keen to give it a shot. Marks right it wouldnt take us long to get it going and be gone. we would really only need 10 minutes and wed be out... 8-) gone in 60 sec... oh i mean 10 minutes! :D
