Track Day out at Mallala for Monday 25th October. Organise the day off from work now and make it a long weekend!! :D

$260 each. Cheaper than a decent speeding ticket, and lasts a lot longer! (not over in the flash of a camera)

Over 12 weeks away, so put aside $30 a week. That will give you money for the day, fuel and lunch (altho we may be putting on a bbq lunch - to be confirmed)

CAMS Licence required, and these can be gotten on the day for $25 if you don't have one. It''s just a simple form to fill in on the morning, takes 2 minutes. This $25 can be taken off the cost of a full CAMS licence if purchased within 6 months.

You do NOT need a Civil Drivers licence (yay for those who may have lost it for whatever reason).
Car does NOT need to be Registered.

A FULL day from 8am to 5pm.
Will start around 8.45ish (time to unload cars, remove loose items, empty boot, etc followed by a brief scrutiny. Battery secure, no major leaks, seat belts work)
Bit of a safety talk at first for 15min or so
We will be on the track all day til just after 4 to pack up and be gone by 5
Spectators welcome (free), but no passengers sorry.
Ambulance on site
Fire marshals on site
Max 16 cars for the day
Max 8 on the track at a time (2 groups)
10 - 15 minutes on the track at a time - enough time to have fun without killing your car and tyres! (You will wear your tyres out more on a decent hills cruise with mates)
1 group out, then they come in and next group go out. Rinse and repeat all day.
Short break for lunch.
NO drifting or racing (due to insurance)
NO "official" timing (again, due to insurance)
Car to be "roadworthy", but doesn't have to be registered. Just needs to be "safe", not have any major oil /fluid leaks, etc
You will need a helmet. Basic helmet is fine (eg motorbike helmet). If you don't have one, borrow a mates or go buy a cheapie for under $100 (check ebay or local stores). Helmet must comply with AS1698 or higher (Snell, FIA). Autosport at Magill have decent open face for $99 and closed face for $129 (ph 8332 8811 and tell Peter that Damian sent you)
Non-flammable clothing (long sleeves and pants) and shoes. Eg: cotton shirt and denim jeans with sneakers.
You do NOT need fire extinguisher in your car ( Make sure it's securely mounted in your car if you do have one)
Mallala is only 5 minutes down the road if you need more fuel or snacks. Or bring a jerry can and an esky.

The day is about having fun and enjoying your car, not breaking it. It will be the most fun you can have with your pants on!

Hi all,

The next cruise will be on the 11th of April instead of on the normal first weekend of the month due to Easter.

We will be heading down to Victor Harbour to see the 2nd day of the Mt Alma Mile hill climb competition.
Details about the competition are here: http://www.mountalmamile.com
There are three Celicas entered, one TA22 and two RA23's.

Note:
The best spectating areas are ~15min walk up a steepish hill through grass paddocks, so be prepared for that.
The weather also changes quickly on the hill, so be prepared for any hot/cold/windy/rainy conditions.
There are toilets, and a bbq, drinks etc provided for spectators at the site.

Details:
11th of April 2010.
Meet at the Bunnings Mile End car park.
Meet at 9am, leaving at 9:30am.
Destination: Mt Alma Mile Hillclimb
Route: TBA

Hi all,

Next cruise will be on the 6th of December, Sunday afternoon. This will be our Christmas event; a cruise to Victor Harbour which includes a social BBQ.

We will probably be at a park for the BBQ for some time, so bring drinks, footballs, cricket gear, etc.

The BBQ will be free for members. Non-members will be asked for a donation for the BBQ/Club.

Details: 6th of December 2009. Meet at the Bunnings Mile End car park. Meet at 3pm, leaving at 3:30pm. Destination: Victor Harbour for a BBQ. Route: TBA

Please RSVP by the poll in the forum, or by SMS'ing me so we can get an idea of numbers for the BBQ.

We haven't come up with a proper cruise route or map as yet, but ill do so soon.

Hope to see you all there! MWP
